Last night at Milk Studios the Canadian electrofunk duo, Chromeo, previewed their upcoming album White Women accompanied with an collaborative installation piece done by Snarkitecture. As music from their upcoming album blared through speakers throughout The White Room exhibit, fashionable New Yorkers started to flood the space making the evening just a little more exciting and interesting. Not only were the boys from Chromeo and Snarkitecture fashionable in their own way, but they have a following that is quite fashionable too. Maria was a girl that I met whom brought a classic punk look to life, and put her own twist on it. Instead of the original I heart NY tee shirts you see crowding the crossroads of 42nd street and Broadway, her's said I heart Nueva York which was also appropriate as she looked like she was from some Latin background. Maria wasn't the only chick turning out looks at this New York party but she was definitely catching everyones eye. For everyone who couldn't make it to the fabulous party yesterday the exhibit will be available to see today from 12-6 and a version of the installation will be available to view online at irlirl.tumblr.com

An International Chic Secret Society
For some, keeping a secret can be a hard thing to do. To tell a secret to 4,000 people and keep it mum is nearly absurd, but somehow it has been done. Last night a few thousand lucky people were given a secret location somewhere amidst the inner-city slabs of Manhattan in which they would throw one of the chicest picnics around. The Dîner en Blanc is a gorgeous occasion where hundreds of people gather round in public and have a picnic where everything is white, from the dress code to the linens to the chairs and accessories. Think P-Diddy's notorious White Party only more elegant and Parisian. Yes this fabulous affair started out in Paris when Parisian, Françios Pasquier, returned to the City of Light after being away for a long time and many of his friends wanted to catch up with him. Because there was so many people, Pasquier decided to give them all a meeting place and told them to wear white so that they could pick the party apart from the general public. This tradition of meeting in public, decked out in white has lived on, but in Paris, as you would expect, it is quite exclusive and an invitation to the 4,000+ people party is only by word of mouth of friends and friends of friends. Most Parisians don't even know about it. Like most Parisian trends this one spread internationally and made it's way to New York City. Last night they frolicked in Bryant Park where half of the people were invited by word of mouth and the other half signed up on a waiting list and were picked to join the event. Picnickers supply their own food, tables, chairs, silverware napkins and linens, mingle with everyone, and at the end of the night they pick up after themselves and it was like nothing had ever taken place just hours before to the waking crowd of Manhattan's work force as they speed down the pavements. White parties are fabulous because the party goers tend to be more flamboyant with their fashion and this tasteful picnic was no exception.

Flaunt the G.O.N.T.
The oh-so trendy island of Manhattan has a sassy new accessories designer in town that every fashion savvy boy and girl should become familiar with. Trendsetters all around the city have been gallivanting around the grimy streets holding firmly on to their precious G.O.N.T. bags as almost to display them on a silver platter for all the world to see, because this hot new brand isn't even on shelves yet. With jewelry and bags already in the works, G.O.N.T. just released their new MAILBOX Bag which is something I am very excited about and hope maybe I can work a little something out with the designer. This bag is chic and has everything you could ever ask for in a shoulder bag including a discrete pocket for your iPad or MacBook Air. Fitting for both men and women this MAILBOX Bag is made out of leather and has precious metal finishings and is accompanied with a petite coin pouch. Look out for this cutting edge designer because God Of Nocturnal Thunder (G.O.N.T.) will be hitting luxury retail stores near you.

L.A. Ends New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week has sadly come to an end. All of the excitement over new fashion collections, celebrity sightings, abundance of quirky street style, and model mayhem have taken a hiatus. Nobody nows how to throw an End of Fashion Week Party like Patricia Field and on Thursday night as New York Fashion Week came to a close, the famed stylist held a soiree in her downtown boutique. Waiting to celebrate the California designers Rickvilla, Dimepiece LA, Hologram City, Jonathan Burdine, Rojas, Adeen and Joseph Anthony the crowd waiting to get inside was an eyeful. As the two floor shop filled up with New York Cities gender bending youth and fashionably eccentric rappers such as Dai Burger the night just kept getting hotter and hotter. Before it got too hot to mingle, I snagged this photo of LA's own fashionistos Leo and Luis Lohan who were in the New York representing and supporting the Los Angeles designers. These boys brought the look to Bowery and did a fantastic job sporting leather, ponytails and floral print not to mention black on black on black. All I have to say is Yes, Yes, Yes to this ensemble.
